Faisalabad is known as the Manchester of Asia because of its Textile manufacturing. There are scores of power looms, factories and TextileMills In Faisalabad. Governor of Punjab, for his services rendered in colonization. In 70’s the existing name of Faisalabad was given after the name of the Late King “Shah Faisal” of KSA. In the commencement Lyallpur now Faisalabad was urbanized as a core of agricultural activities. It gained fame all over Punjab. Such as cotton ginning and wheat grinding units. These units held in reserve ornamental their competence and at the time of independence in 1947, there were 4 flour mills and Textile Mills in Pakistan, 12 ginning and 6 engineering units. After independence with the capabilities of our entrepreneurs and government support, a city which was fundamentally an Agro-based industrialized city with innovative base of power looms and textile dealing out, have full-fledged to the capacity of prime chemical plant in Pakistan and biggest man made fiber producing mills which are situated in Faisalabad. Just about 70 percent of textile export originates from Faisalabad.
